Taking a look at Bayern Munich’s summer plans so far, this window has been superb as they plugged in every loophole in the squad by making fantastic additions. The Bavarians made five signings and even managed to get reasonable prices for their departures.
However, the German Champions haven’t halted their moves yet as they already look to make provisions for next year.
One player on the radar for Bayern is RB Leipzig Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman is one of the most versatile forward in the Bundesliga. Reports across the German media reveal Bayern director and manager Hasan Salihamidzic and Julian Nagelsmann have both shown their strong admiration for the forward, with plans already in motion to capture Nkunku next summer.
The Leipzig star has been a subject of interest among top clubs in Europe following his impressive performances for club and country last campaign, scoring 20 goals which eventually earned him the Bundesliga player of the season award.
His versatility is one very key area that has attracted the Bavarians as he has the capabilities of playing out wide and as a centre-forward.
With just a year left on his deal last summer, the Frenchman has decided to stay at least one more season at the club before exiting the Red Bull side as he aims to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
For now, the striking department seems settled with the addition of Sadio Mane from Premier League side Liverpool. However, one player at the frontline rumoured to make a move is Leroy Sane.
The German winger’s performance has been in a topsy-turvy manner last campaign after two years at the club. Early this month, several reports saw Same linked to Machester United, but Bayern quickly distanced themselves from such reports insisting that the former Schalke and Man City man isn’t for sale, and the player isn’t pushing for a move either.
With all that in place, fingers are crossed as to if the move for Nkunku will materialize next summer. For now, Bayern looks happy with th3 current squad as they look to defend their Bundesliga title and win it for the 11th time.
