Tielemans unfazed by Leicester City’s poor form

Leicester City and Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans has stated that he is happy at Leicester despite the Foxes’ poor start to the season.

The Belgium midfielder was consistently linked with an exit from the King Power Stadium this summer, majorly with London club Arsenal, but a move failed to materialize.

The player has a year left on his contract stayed at the 2016 Premier League champions, while Arsenal went for Fabio Viera and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

While the Ukrainian joined from Premier League champions Manchester City, Viera joined from Sporting Lisbon and scored his first Arsenal goal at the weekend in a 3-0 win against Brentford.

However, while speaking after joining the Belgian National Team camp ahead of the international break, Youri Tielemans refused to dig deep into his Leicester City situation but slightly hinted that he will move when the deal is right but still doesn’t regret not moving in the summer.

“My family is very happy there [in Leicester], and that’s important. I didn’t leave in the summer as I always said the project had to be the right one. Just because things are getting worse now at Leicester doesn’t mean I should regret [staying].” Youri Tielemans.

The Belgian said he had left the duties of the contract extension talks with his agent to sort.

In a contrasting start to the season for Arsenal and Leicester, the Gunners sit atop the Premier League table going into the international break with six wins and a loss from their first seven games.

Leicester City has a single point from seven matches played, sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Arsenal leads Premier League champions Manchester City with a single point, with their only loss coming in the 3-1 deficit to Manchester United weeks back.
