Harry Kane could be set for a sensational switch to Barcelona in 2026, with reports in Spain suggesting the Bayern Munich striker is being lined up to replace Robert Lewandowski.
The England captain still has two years remaining on his deal in Germany but is said to be open to a new challenge once his release clause becomes active.
Barcelona view Kane as the ideal candidate to succeed Lewandowski, who is expected to leave the Camp Nou after the 2025-26 campaign.
Despite having the option to extend his stay, the Polish striker recently turned 37 and is weighing up the possibility of ending his career in either Major League Soccer or Saudi Arabia.
Kane’s numbers since arriving in Bavaria have been remarkable. The 32-year-old has scored 91 goals and provided 28 assists in just 100 appearances for Bayern Munich, reaffirming his reputation as one of Europe’s most clinical forwards.
Barcelona are convinced he still has several years at the highest level and believe his experience could guide a new generation of attackers at the club.
Manchester United are also closely monitoring Kane’s situation. The Premier League side remain interested in bringing him back to England, particularly with the striker sitting second on the all-time scoring charts. Kane has 213 Premier League goals to his name, just 47 shy of Alan Shearer’s long-standing record of 260.
Barcelona’s potential move for Kane in 2026 would not require a massive financial outlay compared to previous marquee signings, largely due to his contract situation.
That makes the deal more feasible for the Catalans, who continue to carefully manage their finances while seeking star power to compete in La Liga and the Champions League.
For now, Kane’s immediate focus remains with Bayern Munich, where he continues to score freely.
His long-term future, however, could hinge on Lewandowski’s decision at the end of next season and whether Barcelona can outmaneuver Premier League rivals to secure his signature.
